Children's Ministries • AWANA

AWANA is a structured, well prepared program for girls and boys ages 3yrs to 6th grade. In AWANA Clubs we hear exciting stories, study the gospel thru our handbooks, earn awards, sing, play games, and have fun with special events. Materials are superbly written, designed to stimulate involvement and develop eagerness for learning. Young people discover the importance of being team members, sharing thoughts and becoming more responsive to authority and learning discipline.

Why is it called AWANA?
The acronym comes from the first letters of the phrase: "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed." 2Timothy 2:15

Who leads the clubs?
An AWANA leader is a committed believer who walks with the Lord, and desires spiritual growth. Leadership opportunities and training are available if you are interested in fun and fulfilling ministry with children.

When do the Clubs meet?
Our AWANA Clubs meet every Wednesday night from September thru May at 6:30 pm-8:15 pm, with the exception of Cubbies, which ends at 8pm. AWANA will not meet during the weeks with holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years Day.

How are the Clubs grouped?
The children are placed in clubs by ages and school grades to provide maximum interest and activity for everyone. Parents should be aware that class sizes will be limited according to appropriate student/leader ratio.
