Why is it called AWANA?
The acronym comes from the first letters of the phrase: "Approved
Workmen Are Not Ashamed." 2 Timothy 2:15 " Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth."
Who leads the clubs?
An AWANA leader is a committed believer who walks with the
Lord, and desires spiritual growth. Leadership opportunities
and training are available if you are interested in fun and
fulfilling ministry with children.
When do the Clubs meet?
Our AWANA Clubs meet every Wednesday night from September
thru May at 6:30 pm-8:15 pm, with the exception of
Cubbies, which ends at 8pm. AWANA will not meet during the
weeks with holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, New
Years Day or Easter.
How are the Clubs grouped?
The children are placed in clubs by ages and school grades
to provide maximum interest and activity for everyone. Truth & Training has separate clubs for girls and boys. Parents
should be aware that class sizes will be limited according
to appropriate student/leader ratio. |
